HX-DG2000-POE, PoE Gigabit Network Surge Protector, DIN Rail, 10kA

HX-DG2000-POE - Gigabit Ethernet PoE Surge Protector

An inline surge protector for gigabit Ethernet links carrying PoE. It sits between the exposed cable run and the equipment you want to keep, a rooftop access point, an outdoor camera, a mast-mounted radio, and diverts lightning-induced surges to earth before they reach the switch port.

Data and PoE power pass straight through, so it drops into an existing link with no configuration and no separate power supply.

Installation is a patch lead in, a patch lead out, and one earth wire.

The cable from the exposed run goes into the input socket, the protected equipment connects to the output socket, and the PE screw terminal is bonded to earth.

The housing clips onto standard 35mm DIN rail inside a cabinet or weatherproof enclosure.

The earth connection is what makes the device work, not an optional extra, a surge protector can only divert energy it has somewhere to send.

Use at least 2.5mm² stranded copper on the shortest practical route to a proper earth electrode, and aim for an earth resistance below 4 ohms.
